Ian Brusby is a British singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist originally from Kingston upon Hull, England. Raised on a wide range of music—from classic composers like Bacharach and Beethoven to contemporary pop and rock—he developed an early passion for rhythm and melody, which led him to take drum lessons before teaching himself guitar as his songwriting interests grew. Over the years, Ian has built a solo career performing across England and Europe, recording and producing his own music in various studios. His early work was crafted using a four-track Portastudio, giving him hands-on experience in arranging and mixing. Ian has collaborated with notable producers such as Gary Langan (associated with The Art of Noise, Spandau Ballet and Yes), Tony Tavener (known for work with Duran Duran, Jeff Beck and The Jam), and Bob Pridden (long-time engineer for The Who and Eric Clapton). Musicians who have worked with him include John Entwistle of The Who, Steve Pigott (Living in a Box, Mike + the Mechanics, 10cc), and acclaimed guitarist Gordon Giltrap. Ian’s music spans styles rooted in pop, melodic acoustic groove rock and easy-listening, with a catalogue of tracks available across platforms like SoundCloud and Apple Music.
Today he continues to play live and write and record new songs, with plans for another album and a continued presence on YouTube and other streaming services
